About Bacillus


Bacilli are unique in that they’re spore-forming bacteria that are able to withstand both higher temperatures and colder temperatures as well as higher-moisture environments than most other bacteria.


They produce a variety of enzymes and some specific species, such as Bacillus coagulans, produce lactic acids characteristic of genus such as Lactobacillus.

Bacilli produce a variety of enzymes including: amylase, protease, lipase, and urease, among others.


Bacilli can also produce some organic acids such as: lactic acid, acetic acid, butyric acid, and propionic acid.
